Tippayaporn Pavavimol (Anns)

Doctoral Researcher

.

Tippayaporn or “Anns” is a doctoral researcher in the CONVERGENCE project. She has a background in media and communication studies, specializing in media design and production.

Anns has always been interested in media technology, how it has evolved over the years, and what if it recasts human-technology relations and open up the new future of humanity.

Her research focuses on transitions between different realities. Inspired by the disorientation we often feel in XR experiences—like when putting on a VR headset and we are abruptly transported to different environments or experiencing transition delays, the awkward pause when an application loads a new scene—she sets out to design a more intuitive, immersive, and meaningful approach to create XR transitions. This research adopts a multidisciplinary approach that bridges the human-centered insights from the social sciences and humanities perspective (SSH) with the precision and innovation of telecommunications engineering (ENG).
